Ammerman, who preceded her in death on October 14, 2016. Janet is survived by her sons, John Stanley Craig and Lewis I. (Karen) Craig both of rural Julian and her daughters, Jeanne Straley (Phil Deihl) of Bellefonte and Tina (Jonathan) Storms of Warriors Mark, her step-daughter, Marcia (Neil) Roberts of Minnesota and step-son, James (Paula) Ammerman of Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jacqueline Roberts, Terri Klinefelter, Troy Craig, Shawna Stem, Renee Craig, Janelle Traxler, Jonna Straley, Jeana Lucas, Trevor Schall, and step-grandchildren, Matthew Roberts, Katie Miller, Rebecca Blackler and Eric Ammerman and nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins; two brothers, Tommy (Wilma) Gill of Hawaii and John (Deborah) Gill of Julian. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Sebring Craig, her grandson, Lewis Craig; her brother, Donald Gill and her sister, Donna Maitland.
Janet was a homemaker and also worked outside the home in her early life at Harry Stiver’s Store, Fleisher's Market, and Weis Market Deli. She also worked at home health agencies, providing in-home care for the elderly and handicapped. Janet's most treasured times were spending it with family at home, at family picnics, or traveling the United States to visit family with Ernie. A summer get-a-way to Ocean City, NJ annually with her "girls" was very special to her. Janet was a member of The Bald Eagle Baptist Church for more than 40 years and served as a greeter at the church doors and made more cakes, pies and potato salad than can be remembered for gatherings. Her peach pie was a family favorite and won first place at the Grange Fair. Janet served God faithfully through her love and devotion to others. Her warm smile and kindness will be forever in our hearts.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bald Eagle Baptist Church, 6644 S. Eagle Valley Road, Port Matilda, PA 16870, in Memory of Janet M. Ammerman.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family, with Pastor Ben Lee and Pastor David Spaugh officiating. There will be no public visitation.
