James M. Simco, 66, of rural Bellefonte passed away at Mount Nittany Medical Center on Saturday, January 18, 2020. Jim was born in Bellefonte on April 30, 1953, the son of Ruth Lyons Simco of State College and the late Andrew Simco.
He married Patricia (Bitner) Simco, who survives at home. Jim was an auto mechanic and retired from Rider Oldsmobile after many years of service. He enjoyed restoring cars and tractors. Jim was of the Protestant faith.
Along with his wife, Jim is survived by his two sons, Michael (Danniele) Simco of Stormstown, Shawn Simco of Bellefonte and his grandson, Dakota Bartley who resided with Jim and Patty. He is also survived by his other eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his brother, Andy Simco.
Abiding by Jim's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. Online condolences may be made at

He was a very special man who always had his doors open to help my son with his truck. Jim and his wife always made Nick feel like family. He will be missed. Rest In Peace my friend

Patty & family, Our sincere sympathy to all of you! Jim was such a great person, he had a heart of gold and when Bubba needed help with a vehicle Jim was always right there.
