William E. "Bill" Emenhizer , 86 of Milesburg, surrounded by his family, passed away at Geisinger Medical Center, on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Bill was the last of his generation. Bill was born in Lock Haven, on November 24, 1932 a son of the late Clayton and Maude (Rhoades) Emenhizer. On April 6, 1958, he married the former Mona (Thomas) Emenhizer who survives at home. Also surviving are his daughters, Sherry (Michael) Boone of rural Howard, Joy Lerch of Milesburg, and Dawn (James G.lll) Taylor of rural Howard. Bill is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Brett (Teresa) Boone, Kari (Ray) Zuback, Brandi (Brent) Lerch- Ott, Christi Lerch , Jesse Taylor and Danielle Taylor; and his 3 great - grandchildren, Honesty Boone, Krystianna Boone and Ethan Boudwin. Bill is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill attended Lock Haven School District. He was a member of Blanchard Church of Christ. After high school, he had worked for the Orviston Brickyard. Bill was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed at Cerro Metal Products, as a laborer, before his retirement. Bill also worked part-time at Bellefonte Lanes. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, walking, and bird watching. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan and a Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Bill was a member of Bellefonte Loyal Order of Moose and the Milesburg American Legion Post 893.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Emenhizer, and his sisters, Helen Confer, Gladys Rossman, and Viola Jensen.
