Obituary for Douglas D. Watkins

Douglas Duane Watkins, 46, of State College, PA, passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2018 in Danville, PA. He was born April 1st, 1972 to Thomas Watkins Sr. and Elizabeth Watkins. He was the youngest of five children and had a special bond with his older brother Mike.

Douglas was a lot of things to a lot of people, but above all, he was a fiercely loyal and loving husband, father and friend. Doug relished in the ability he had to make people laugh and took every opportunity to do so. He was an avid outdoorsman and a forever metalhead and took great pride in sharing the outdoors and music with his children. He was never more at home than he was at the top of Tussey.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Sr. and Elizabeth E. Watkins. He is survived by the love and light of his life, Jessica Watkins; two deeply loved children, Sierra and Sidney Watkins; his sisters Charmaine Watkins and Teresa Watkins; two brothers, Thomas Watkins, Jr. and Michael and Elizabeth C. Watkins, as well as many extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home in Milesburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family has created a fund to benefit his children now and going forward.
