Obituary for Betty Park (McCloskey)

Betty A. Park,96, formerly of Snow Shoe, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home in Milesburg. Betty was born in Snow Shoe on December 9, 1921, a daughter of the late Thomas Clayton and Bertha Elizabeth Watson McCloskey. On March 1, 1940, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she married Philip S. Park who preceded her in death on July 22, 1986. Betty is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Pete) Rockey, of Snow Shoe, her sons, Philip" Don" Park of Milesburg, Chipper (Eva) Park of Ephrata, Kim (Mary ) Park of Snow Shoe, and Chris (Mary Ann) Park also of Snow Shoe. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tacy, Don Allen, Shane, Travis, Mandie , Jamie, Willis, Brianne, Hannah, Carrie, Monica, Ian and Evan, 17 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her 2 sisters, Shirley Etters and Jean Young.
Betty was a 1940 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. She was a member of Church of Christ Church in Snow Shoe. She retired from Murata Erie. She served on the Bald Eagle Area Board of Education for many years. Betty was an active member of the Snow Shoe Women's Club, PTA, RSVP Club and was a Cub Scout Leader. She was an avid reader of mysteries.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sandy Custer Park, her siblings, Evelyn Diven, Mildred Sprout, Harold McCloskey, Paul McCloskey, and Clyde McCloskey.
Funeral Services and visitation are private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, College Twp., Centre Co. with Pastor Douglas W. Mellott, officiating.
The family would like to thank Eagle Valley Personal Care Home and Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for their mother.
