Obituary for John William Jodon

John William Jodon, 86, of Milesburg passed into the presence of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 10, 2018 following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Stewart) Jodon. A lifelong resident of Milesburg, PA, he was born on July 19, 1931 to the late John and Carrie (Brown) Jodon. Upon his graduation from Bellefonte Area High School, he served in the United States Army. In the years following his military service, he worked in the construction industry, before working at the State Correctional Institution at Rockview until his retirement. An excellent musician, he played several instruments, and toured and performed with numerous bands and orchestras including playing bass for Hank Williams, Sr. He also performed on a weekly radio show heard in Centre County and the surrounding areas. John most loved to play the guitar and the bass fiddle. He faithfully and enthusiastically served as a church musician for several decades. A member of Eagle Valley Church of the Nazarene in Milesburg. John was a devout Christian. In addition to his dearly beloved wife, Beverly, he is survived by three sons: Samuel Jodon of Lemoyne, Matthew Jodon of Milesburg, and Jonathan (Amanda) Jodon of Dillsburg; eleven grandchildren: Nicholas, Tyler, Madison, Caleb, Richard, Leah, Ana, Avalyn, William, Isaac and Adalyn; and two brothers: Raymond (Doris) Jodon of Belleville and Donald (Betty) Jodon of Snow Shoe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard D. Jodon. Family and friends will be receive on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg and from 10 AM till 11 AM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 time of the services at the funeral home with Pastor Robert D. Williams and Pastor Jonathan C. Jodon officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, College Twp., Centre Co. where Military Honors will be accorded. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of The Dean K.
